Food Processing

Food processing machined parts require high precision and FDA/USDA-compliant materials to ensure safety, sanitation, and corrosion resistance. Common components include slicers, grinding plates, augers, mixing blades, gears, and conveyor rollers, typically precision-milled from food-grade stainless steel (e.g., 304/316) or high-performance plastics like Delrin/Acetal.

Because these components operate in demanding, high-friction, and washdown environments, they must be engineered to prevent bacterial buildup and withstand aggressive cleaning chemicals.
Key Manufacturing Materials
  • Stainless Steel:  Ideal for applications requiring extreme corrosion resistance, such as centrifuge bowls, valve trim, and extrusion tubes.
  • Food-Grade Plastics: Materials like Nylon, PBT (Hydex), and Acetal are frequently machined for applications that require non-marking, wear-resistant parts like guides, star wheels, and scraper blades.
  • Specialty Alloys: Titanium and food-safe brass are sometimes used for specialized processing environments to guarantee durability.

Common Machined Components:
  • Blades & Knives: Precision-ground knives for dicing, slicing, and preparing raw ingredients.
  • Augers & Screws: Custom-machined for metering, extruding, and moving viscous food products through production lines.
  • Forming & Packaging Dies: Machined for vacuum packaging, form-fill-seal lines, and portioning.
  • Conveyor & Power Transmission Parts: Pulleys, sprockets, and rollers optimized to move products through cutting, chilling, and deboning processes.
